Another spectacular exhibition is opening at Art Gallery NSW on November 8th! America: Painting will showcase over 80 artworks that depict over 200 years of rich history, from the colonial era to the mid 20th century.

The exhibition is full of sublime poetry and drama of the land, the ambition and optimism of the country’s pioneers, the challenges of the frontier, the intimacy of family life and the intensity of the modern city.

Due to popular demand producer George Youakim from James Anthony Productions has announced that the season of the devilishly cheeky broadway musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels has been extended to December 8 at Sydney’s Theatre Royal.
 
Based on the highly successful 1988 film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine, with music and lyrics by David Yazbek and book by Jeffrey Lane

It was a spectacular evening celebraiting the Sydney Opera House’s 40th Anniversary yesterday with a spectacular twilight concert on the Forecourt.

The event was hosted by Deborah Mailman - with an audience of five thousand who enjoyed an amazing line-up of artists.

The Australian Ballet also featured in the concert with Artistic Director David McAllister speaking to a beautiful backdrop of historical images from the Australian Ballet’s Opera House performances. Underlining the enduring links between Australia and Denmark first forged by the Opera House.

A new exhibition called Brett Whiteley: Nature  is showcasing 47 of Whiteley’s landscapes at the Brett Whiteley Studio in Surry Hills.
 
Landscapes have always been a major theme throughout Whiteley’s artistic practice - from intimate studies to large poetic paintings. Whiteley has immersed himself in both urban and rural landscapes from his early years.
 
Whiteley has redefined the way the Australian landscape are seen! Whiteley has also became one of the most celebrated 20th-century painters.

Yesterday the Opera House celebrated their 40th birthday - with an official Happy Birthday spectacular on the Monumental Opera House Stairs.
 
The party was hosted by HG Nelson, the spectacular welcomed the public to celebrate the special occasion, with the help of the Royal Australian Navy Band, Australian Girls Choir, Surf Life Saving NSW, Etihad Airways, Danish-owned towage operators Svitzer Fire Tugs and Harbour City Ferries.
